What information we collect and how we use it and store it

Personal information collected includes name, (first, last, middle), street and email address, phone number, credit card number, billing address, social security number, marital status, date of birth, gender, occupation, education level, driver’s license number, prior insurance coverage, VIN number, makes and models of the vehicles in your household, underlying health problems, possible mortgage information, possible banking information, business type and location, annual income and possible other information as well depending on the type of coverage you or your business needs. Examples of where this personal information is collected are on our online form applications for insurance, over the phone interviews conducted by Key Insurance, LLC or on the contact us form (only your email is required on that form). Your personal information may be used to conduct studies and track sales of our insurance types internally but will only be used in house.  Also, you may be asked to participate in Sweepstakes or Surveys where your personal information is collected, but you will be asked to disclose that information only if you elect to participate.

OPT – IN / OPT – OUT

When you use the services provided on our site, www.KeyInsurance.com, you will automatically receive commercial and promotional email messages from us to let you know about new products, services, and features offered by us and our partners. Insurance Carriers – Agencies – Agents

Our partnered carriers, agencies and agents use your personal information to create a premium estimate and insurability. Ratings criteria vary from partner to partner so some will put emphasis on certain aspects of your personal information and others will look at other aspects.  Third Party insurance carriers, agencies and agents have their own privacy policies. Please the specific privacy policy from the partner you choose to purchase insurance through. 

Financial – Credit Bureaus – Government Agencies

Where Permitted By Law, We Will Submit Your Information to a Certified Credit Bureau to Verify Information about Your Credit Score

Certain systems and providers that provide comparative rates for your insurance needs use data from the Department of Motor Vehicles to verify your driving record and a certified credit bureau to obtain information regarding your credit score.  Your personal information is maintained by credit agencies and disclosed by them to others as permitted by law.

Exceptions

We reserve the right to disclose your personal information if we are required to by law or if we fill it necessary including, without limitation:

• Search Warrant, subpoena, court ordered, state or federal law
• Protect our Companies rights and property
• Investigative reason for false information or misleading information

Electronic Security

The security of your Personal Information and email address are very important to us. When you provide Personal Information, including your payment information, social security number, and other personal information during the Interview or purchase process, we encrypt the information by using advanced encryption technology known as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to protect the transfer and storage of your Personal Information. In addition, during the Interview process, you are on secure pages of our Sites and a lock or key icon appears on the bottom of your web browser screen to indicate secure pages.

All Personal Information is considered restricted data. Employees are only granted access on a need-to-know basis. In addition, the servers on which we store Personal Information are kept in a secure environment. Our main servers are operated from a dedicated Internet hosting facility with state-of-the-art physical security features, including smoke detection and fire suppression systems, motion sensors, and 24x7 secured access, as well as video camera surveillance and security breach alarms.  All safety features and measures including an added firewall to prevent hacker traffic to security scans of the site go above and beyond the PCI compliant regulations.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, while we follow accepted industry standards and implement reasonable security practices to protect Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
